Nelleta M. West, age 71, died suddenly on Wednesday, January 13, 2010. She was born on February 28, 1938 in Seminole County, OK to A. P. and Amy (Word) Christopher. She grew up in the Seminole/Varnum community and was a 1956 graduate of Varnum High School where she was the salutatorian . She lived in OKC most of her adult life and worked many years for SW Bell/AT&T as a telephone operator, retiring in 1990. Nelleta was a member of Council Road Baptist Church and Telephone Pioneers. Nelleta was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and Christian lady. She especially loved her Sunday School Class at Council Road Baptist Church. The family wishes to thank Muffin her physical therapist and the wonderful first responders who worked so hard to save her life. She was preceded in death by her parents, one grandson Adam, two brothers Jerry and Ronnie, three sisters Reba, Veva and Colleen. Survivors include her husband Charlie of the home, three sons Steven C. West and wife Robin, Larry Dale West and wife Deborah and Roger G. West all of OKC. Also by ten grandchildren, four great grandchildren, four brothers James Christopher of Seminole, OK, Art, Danny and Charles Christopher all of California, three sisters Dortha Means of OKC, Darlene O’Bryant of Konawa, OK and Sandy Self of Shawnee, OK. Services will be held at 10:00am on Monday, January 18, 2010 at Council Road Baptist Church, Bethany, OK with interment following in Yukon Cemetery, Yukon, OK under the direction of McNeil’s Mustang Funeral Service, Mustang, Oklahoma.
