Ella Bell Richmond, age 89, passed away Sunday February 14, 2010 in Wewoka, OK. She was born on August 30, 1920 in Bluejacket, OK to Henry and Cora Bell (Hennis) Taylor. She attended West Point Public Schools near Vinita, OK. Ella grew up in Bluejacket, OK, married Joe Simonsen, and moved to Shelby, Nebraska. Ella and her family moved to the Britton area of OKC in 1952. She married Floyd Richmond in 1964 after Joe’s death. She was a caregiver all of her life, she loved music and playing the piano by ear. She lived in OKC until 2006 when she moved to a nursing home in Wewoka, OK. Ella was preceded in death by her parents, husband Joe Simonsen (1963) and husband Floyd Richmond (1988), sons Billy Joe (1984) and Rondall (1986), granddaughter Shellie Simonsen (1975), brothers; Ray, Edgar, and Leon, and sister Ruby Walker. She is survived by her son John H. Simonsen and wife LaDonna of Yukon, daughter Geneva Hilton of Holdenville, OK, brothers Bobby Taylor and wife Carol of Tulsa, OK, Dennis Taylor and wife Bonnie of Miami, OK, thirteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Services will be 3:00pm Wednesday February 17, 2010 at the Historical Chapel in Memorial Park Cemetery, OKC, Oklahoma.

I have known Ella Bell for 7 years now and every day of that 7 years has been a blessing to my life. She was such a beautiful, caring, loving, comical woman that definitely knew how to make someone feel like part of the family. I will miss her fun and laughter the rest of my life. R.I.P.
