Mary Jo Preuss passed from this earthly life on February 15, 2010. Mary Jo was born in Seminole, Oklahoma to parents Charles and Betty Grooms. They later moved to Oklahoma city where she entered and graduated from Northeast High School. Mary Jo met her husband Gary in December 1955, and were married July 7th, 1956. To this blessed union were born three children, daughter Vicki and sons Mark and Gary Dean. She was preceded in death by daughter Vicki and parents Charles and Betty Grooms and her only brother, Bill Grooms. She is survived by husband Gary, son Mark and wife Dana, of Oklahoma City, son Gary Dean of Blackwell, Oklahoma, four grandchildren, Michelle Atkinson and husband Jim, Amanda Solorio, Brittany and Stephanie. three great grandchildren, Amaya and Kaleb Atkinson, and Lexie . Mary Jo was a beautiful lady, full of love, caring and compassion. To know her was to love her but God loved her more and took her home to be with him in Heaven. She was a past member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Council Grove, Kansas, Immanual Lutheran Church in Oklahoma city and current member of Christ Lutheran Church in Mustang, Oklahoma. She loved reading, traveling, Bible Study and playing bridge which she played weekly in several Bridge groups of which she thoroughly enjoyed and had many countless and very close friends. Through her 12 years of treatments for cancer, she never lost her smile, never complained and never lost her love for her Savior. Memorial services will be held 11am Friday, February 19th at Christ Lutheran Church in Mustang, Oklahoma, 501 N. Clear Springs Road, Mustang, Oklahoma, 73064. Memorials may be made to your local Hospice organization, building funds at Calvary Lutheran Church in Council Grove, Kansas, or Christ Lutheran Church in Mustang, Oklahoma.
