Carl Wilkerson, age 72, died Monday, March 1, 2010 after a brief illness. He was born August 28, 1937 in OKC, OK to Carl C. and Ethel Mae (Miner) Wilkerson and grew up there, graduating from John Marshall High School. He joined the US Navy and loved serving his country. He was a truck driver for many years and spent thirteen years as a special needs bus driver for Mustang Public Schools. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club of Mustang. He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter Christina Wilkerson. He is survived by his companion of many years, Pat Buck, three sons Danny Wilkerson of New Caney, TX, Carl Wilkerson, Jr. and wife Amanda of Alex, OK, Terry Don Wilkerson of Houston, TX; two daughters Carla Nash of Huffman, TX; Pamela Standridge and husband David of Antlers, OK and two sisters Charlene Green and Carlene Harvey, both of Mobile, AL. He is also survived by seven grandchildren Nikki, Billy, Rose, Brandon, Endale, Gabriel and Kasey and one great grandson Keagan. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Services will be held at 10am on Friday, March 5, 2010 in the Chapel of the Good Shepherd, McNeil’s Mustang Funeral Service, Mustang, OK with interment with military honors to follow at Resurrection Cemetery, OKC, OK.

Carl was our bus driver for our Son. Carl was an AMAZING man. He was so gentle and kind. He was one of a kind. I am so INCREDIBLY sad for all us he has left; yet SO INCREDIBLY THANKFUL Carl is NO LONGER IN PAIN. Our thoughts and prayers are with you ALL.

Jacobs favorite bus driver
Carl will be greatly missed. His kind heart and smiling face was what Jacob looked forward to every morning. Such a kind man with a gentle heart that loved these kids. When it came down to it if mom was at school when it was time to go home. Jacob picked Carl to ride home with and mom had to race home to get Jacob off the bus. Carl has been a special part of our lives and will be missed.
